Wright Flyer II

The Flyer II is the second Aéroplane produced in 1904 by the Frères Wright.

History

The September 15th 1904, the tests of Flyer II make it possible Wilbur Wright to carry out a turn controlled in flight, launched using a catapult (named Simms Station) equipping the base and of a counterweight with 270 kg.

Wilbur Wright carries out the first flight in closed circuit. He traverses 1240 m into 1 min 36 S, the September 20th 1904, in the presence of several witnesses, of which Amos Root, owner of a local newspaper.
