Wriggles

Wriggles is a group of music made up of Christophe Gendreau, Stephan Gourdon, Frederic Volovitch, Antoine Réjasse and Franck Zerbib.

The name of the group ( to wriggle means to be twisted in English) symbolizes their stage business well: always moving, they handle the guitar dries, grimacent, are agitated like puppets, can use their vocal cords to make laugh the public and do not hesitate to have a caustic glance over the company.

History

The meeting of these five small imps, always equipped in red on scene, occurred in 1994 on the benches of the street Blanche. At the beginning, they started by writing together songs to joke, and as none of them wanted to launch out in a career solo they decided to launch out together.

Their red clothes were at the base of the pyjamas which they all had bought…

They give their first representation in 1995 and a year later they are pointed out by a denichor of talents, Richard Kalfa, which invites them in a Parisian small room . At the beginning they do not believe in it too much and do not think especially of making career. The first three years are not obvious for them because they cannot live spectacle and must work at side.

Wriggles have a kind which is between the theater, the song and the humorous one. They are songs nullilists, polyphonies punks, acoustic raps , tales for children, of the ballades in love.

The group made to the original music of the film the New Jean-Claude and played there even a band of Mexicans in a restaurant singing Roucoucou Paolita .

Currently

Wriggles are nothing any more but 3 since August 2006; indeed Antoine Réjasse and Franck Zerbib left the group.

Christophe Gendreau, Stephan Gourdon, and Frederic Volovitch seems to want to continue. They started all the three a new round on February 2nd, 2007.
