In the saga Harry Potter, the wraps invisibility is an extremely rare and invaluable object. The cape of Invisibilité is manufactured starting from a very light fabric , of a silver plated color and which gives the impression of “touching water that one would have transformed into fabric”.

The cape of invisibility belonged, to one moment given to the father of Harry and was given to Harry by Albus Dumbledore. Harry uses the cape of invisibility to explore Poudlard without nobody being able to see it. Harry uses the cape to go in the reserve of the library to see the Miroir of Riséd, and to help to send the dragon Norbert to Charlie Weasley.

People having a cape of invisibility:

Is this possible?

According to a study published in the review Sciences by David Smith, professor of electric and data-processing engineering at the University Duke, one could in the long term manufacture such a cape even if it would resemble more one large shield than with a light fabric. David Smith gives the following description of these “Métamatériaux”, whose first practical applications were born in 2006: The electromagnetic light and waves are guided by certain materials whose properties make them circumvent the object, such water of a river running around a rock .
