The Pincerais ( Pagus pinciacensis ) is an old “country” located in France, formed at the time mérovingienne on the territory of a Gallic tribe which occupied the northern part of the territory of the Carnutes and whose chief town was Pinciacum , current the Poissy. This territory corresponds appreciably to the natural area of the basin of the Mauldre, limited to north by the the Seine, in the south by the forest of Yveline, in the east by the current limit of the Hauts-de-Seine and in the west by the basin of Vaucouleurs. It is included in near total in the current territory of the Yvelines.
