Worldwide association of Esperanto

The universal Association of Esperanto (in Esperanto: Universala Esperanto-Asocio , UEA ) was founded in 1908 with Geneva. It is most important association esperantist in the world and currently has national associations in 62 countries and of the individual members in approximately 120 countries.

The UEA publishes books, reviews, as well as a directory with the list of the organizations esperantists and the local representatives all over the world.

UEA works for the promotion of Esperanto and to bring to a discussion about the linguistic problems in the world and the need for the equality between the languages. UEA represents the “neutral” branch of the movement of Esperanto, contrary to SAT.

UEA is in advisory relation with UNO, UNESCO, UNICEF, the the Council of Europe, the Organization of the States of America, and the International organization of standardization (ISO).
