The worldwide association anationale (in Esperanto: Sennacieca Asocio Tutmonda or SAT ) was created in 1921 by politically engaged esperantists as Eugene Lanti which is one of the founders, taking part in the Labor movement. SAT was created in opposition of the current which is defined as neutral and which it names " movement bourgeois". The founders of SAT considered indeed that the Esperanto was to play a part in the Class struggle like instrument of the Working class for its emancipation, in echo with the position of the Internationales workers which proclaimed " Proletarians of all the countries, you link! " .

The neologism " anationale " contained in the French name of the SAT an ideology does not define but indicates an original structure in the international relations of the work world, inspired by that of association neutral esperantist, the Worldwide association of Esperanto, such as had founded Hector Hodler. This structure is characterized by the fact that the adhesion of the active members is individual and directly world, without passing via national sections. It was exposed in detail (with explanatory diagram) by Eugene Lanti in a series of articles (republished later on in the form of the booklet " For the neŭtralismon! " neutralism) in preparation with the foundation of Association in 1921. This worldwide association is unaware of thus indeed in its inner working the nations and the borders. Such a structure is made possible by the fact that all the members of association have as a common language the Esperanto.

Inside SAT are several currents progressists of the social movement: communist, anarchistic, ecologists, pacifist, trade unionists, etc…

The official body of SAT is the newspaper: Sennaciulo ( the anationalist ).

Every year since 1921, except for the period between 1940 and 1946, a world congress is organized, generally in a town of Europe (Western or Is).

Whereas SAT aims at the practical application of the Esperanto, and is composed of this fact of members speaking this language, the role of diffusion of the Esperanto falls on organizations related to SAT by a convention. The field of activities of these organizations not extends according to the national borders, but from the linguistic zones. For the francophonie, this role returns to SAT-Amikaro (Friends, or the Friendly one, of SAT).

One of the contributions most important of SAT is the edition of the Plena Ilustrita Vortaro of Esperanto , PIV in summary, complete magazine in Esperanto, entirely in Esperanto this dictionary is a tool of reference of the international community espérantophone.
