World statistics of research and development

The Scientific research is an important function of the economic activity. Its piloting, and in particular the management of the public funds reserved for the financed, recquiert the development of an indicating battery of allowing to evaluate the effectiveness of the various systems of research and the relevance of the policies of research which theirs are applied.

This page presents, for the recent years, the relative data with the principal indicators of R & D.

The table below gives the evolution of the number of researchers for thousand employment, as well as the total staff complements for 2004, in equivalence full time.
