World institute of coal

The world Institute of coal (or WCI , World Coal Institute ), is an association of companies and associations coal. It is the only group to represent the coal sector in the whole world.

The world Institute of coal represents industry Charbonnière in the international debates of policy and research on energy and the environment. The WCI undertakes actions of Lobbying, organizes workshops of work and offers various information and documents intended to improve knowledge of coal on behalf of the décisionnaires and the general public.

Objectives of WCI

  • To give voice to coal industry in the debates of international policies on energy and the environment.

  • to better make known the merits and the importance of coal like primary source of fuel for the electrical production.
  • to better render comprehensible the key role plays by coal in the worldwide production of steel on which depends very whole industry.
  • Veiller so that the decision makers, and the public opinion in general, are quite informed on progress of technologies of clean coal, of progress which increases the effectiveness of coal constantly and strongly reduces its environmental impact.
  • To support the other sectors of world coal industry by stressing the importance and qualities of coal like energy resource abundant, clean, sour and economic.
  • To promote the merits of coal and to modernize its image like clean and effective fuel, essential to the worldwide production of electricity and steel.

Activities of WCI

  • Lobbying, development of policies and participations in the international debates on the problems concerning the whole of the community of coal.

  • To create international partnerships between industries of coal and important international agencies, and to take part has a broad panel of influential groups of which:
