World day of the Company of information
The first world day of the Company of information took place on Wednesday, May 17, 2006.
This day will be celebrated every year at the same date. The date was selected following the adoption by the general meeting of the United Nations of the draft Resolution A/RES/60/252 of the International union of telecommunications at the time of the World summit on the company of information to Tunis in 2005.
As envisaged, the second world day of the Company of information took place on May 17th, 2007. This year, main concern is to promote the access and the use of the TIC by the young people through the topic " To connect the jeunes".
Objectives
This Day will contribute to sensitize the opinion with the prospects which the use of the Internet and communication and information technologies opens (TIC) in the fields economic and social, like with the ways of reducing the digital divide.
