World cup of the nations of athletics

The world cup of the nations of athletics is a competition of Athlétisme by teams.

It gathers:

• teams of the five continents (male and female)
• the team of the United States
• two teams at the head of the last Cut of Europe of the nations of athletics disputed.

Disputed for the first time in 1977, it is held since 1994 every four years.

Principles

• the female and male competitions are distinct.
• the competition is held, in general, over two days.
• Each team introduces a participant in each of the 20 tests.
• the competitor placed first makes gain 8 points with its country, that classified second 7 points and so on until the last which collects only one point. In the event of ex æquo (in particular for the contests), the points allotted to the places occupied by the ex æquo are equitably shared. A competitor disqualified for a test or eliminated with a contest without succeeding of valid mark, does not make collect any point.
