World cup of improvisation
The world cup of improvisation is an international test of theatrical improvisation in which each country is represented by a team of 7 people (1 trainer and 6 players). The teams must improvise 30 seconds to 20 minutes according to drawn topics and conditions with the fate by a referee. The public votes then for the service which he preferred.
The organization and the choice of the teams are variable because no federation can claim to gather all the teams of its country.
The prize list of the last years is the following:
- 1985: Quebec beats France (Tournament presented to Quebec)
- 1986: France beats Quebec (Tournament presented in France)
- 1988: Quebec beats Switzerland (Tournament presented in Switzerland)
- 1990: Belgium beats Quebec (Tournament presented in Belgium)
- 1992: Quebec beats Belgium (Tournament presented to Quebec)
- 1998: Italy beats Quebec (Tournament presented in France)
- 2001: France beats Quebec (Tournament presented in France)
The concept of world cup is quite relative, just like that of cut of France, because no league gathers the whole of associations. It is generally about an association more dynamic than the others which is entitled team of France/Quebec/Belgium…
Since 1998 the festival Right To laugh, organizes mini-world in Montreal (Quebec) and since 2006 in Nantes (France). This tournament is represented by the teams of Quebec, of Belgium, of France, of Switzerland and with some recoveries by Italy. The teams consist of 4 players and 1 trainers and the accent is put on humor.
