World cup of Rugby at XV 2015
The World cup of Rugby to XV 2015 will be the 8th edition of this competition disputed every four years since 1987. The advertisement of the organizing country should take place with the semi 2009. In 2015, Africa will not have accommodated the world cup since 1995 (in South Africa), Europe since 2007 (in France) and Oceania since 2011 (in New Zealand). The competition never yet took place in Asia and America.
Candidatures
Japan
The Japan is regarded as a very serious candidate to organize the world cup of Rugby at XV 2015 insofar as it were beaten only with the last turn by New Zealand for the organization of the World cup of Rugby to XV 2011. A world cup in Japan would make it possible Rugby to be established in Asia. The true problem relates to the weak popularity of Rugby in this country compared to Oceania, South Africa and Europe: the International Rugby Board fears that certain matches are been sulky by an indifferent Japanese public and are played in empty stages. Japan presents all the guarantees infrastructures organization.
Scotland
The Scottish candidature received a strong support on behalf of the politicians (including Gordon Brown) and of the Scottish population. This nation is regarded as the option of reliability thanks to the experiment of the Championnat of the world of Rugby to XV of less than 21 years organized in 2004. Many figures of the IRB were said satisfied with the Scottish organization. However, Scotland misses infrastructures to accommodate only a competition of this size: the construction of new stages and aggrandissement of the existing sites will be a precondition. An alternative solution would consist in delocalizing the organization of certain matches to the Wales and in Ireland within the framework of a Celtic Bid .
Potential candidatures
Rumors give a report on candidatures coming from other countries. However, none still was officially transmitted to the IRB.
England
In September 2007 The Guardian affirmed that the English Fédération of Rugby was going to deposit a candidature and that the latter would have great chances of success. However, England is also on the rows to organize the Football world cup of 2018 and obtained that of the Olympic Games of summer of 2012. To thus organize, in the same country, three of the more world sporting great events in 6 years can seem unrealistic.
The United States and Canada
A common candidature is sometimes evoked in the Nord-Américaine press. But even if sites were evoked (New York City, Toronto, Los Angeles, Montreal, Dallas, St Louis, Miami and Philadelphia), such a candidature is not very probable. Moreover, the practice of Rugby in Canada is concentrated in Alberta and British Columbia: Rugby is not very present at the Quebec and in Ontario.
Italy
The Italian half of opening , Diego Dominguez, announced its desire to see Italy presenting a candidature for 2015. But it acts for the moment only of the opinion of a former player and not of an official announcement on behalf of the Italian Federation.
Argentina
The Argentine officially did not make application form. However, the performance of the Pumas at the time of the World cup of Rugby 2007 and the desire of the IRB to organize the world cup on a new continent push Argentina to declare its candidature. There exists also the argument of prestige: the Brazil having obtained the organization of the Football world cup of 2014, such a competition would make it possible Argentina to be emphasized in its turn.
Ireland
The Ireland is rebuilding its old stage of Lansdowne Road and this last could accommodate the match of opening and the final. However, just like Scotland, Ireland misses infrastrutures to organize a competition of this importance. It should then obtain the assistance of the Wales and the Scotland within the framework of a Celtic bid : this is not possible that if Scotland agrees to pass its turn in favor of his/her cousin.
Austria
The Austria is candiate to organize with the world cup 2015 but it misses infrastrutures
