World conference of the ILGA

The World conference of the ILGA ( International Lesbian and Gay Association ; in French, international association of the lesbians and gays), are a world federation of national associations and regional groups founded in 1978 and which aims at, “obtaining the equal rights for the lesbians, the gays, the bisexual ones and transgenres (LGBT)”.

In 2006, the World conference of the ILGA - which in the rule is held every two years - took place with Geneva March 27th with the April 3rd 2006. This conference was organized by a grouping of associations Swiss LGBT : mixed association 360, gay association Dialogai and association Lestime lesbian. National homosexual associations were also recipient: Pink Cross-country race (gay association) and the LOS (association lesbian). The Swiss militant Yves de Matteis - former member of the committee of the ILGA and current copresident of Pink Cross-country race - ensured coordination with the ILGA.

The Conference was to proceed at the same time as the Commission of the Human rights of the the United Nations, Commission which has until now failed to recognize and to take advantage of the rights which the assert gay and lesbians. Unfortunately, the latter met only during a few hours.

The Conference of the ILGA in spite of was very the occasion for its organizers, to recall to UNO one claims which consists in making admit clearly that according to them, “the Sexual orientation and the identity of kind belong to the human rights”.

In 2008, this conference will take place in the Ville of Quebec, capital of the Quebec, for the 400 {{E}} birthday of its foundation. In 2010, the conference should be held with Moscow which, in 2006, saw its Gay Pride being the theater of particularly important violences.
