World Wind is a Logiciel of exploration of Planet S via Photographie S satellite and air. __TOC

Developed by NASA Hearts Research Center with a teaching aim , it is diffused under a free License. The images are in the public domain. The user interface is a simulation in three dimensions of the Ground and Planet Mars and the Moon. On certain zones of the the United States, it is possible to identify until the category of a vehicle, or - for example - to see distinctly the letters of the sign HOLLYWOOD…

The program, once installed, can be used directly, but also since a Web page thanks to the protocol worldwind: /.

He is written in the language programming . Net and the graphic part is managed by DirectX.

WW2D

WW2D (or World Wind 2D ) is a “clone” of NASA World Wind developed to allow the visualization of satellite images on the operating systems not supported by the other software of cartography.

It is based on technologies OpenGL and Java and uses the same cartographic resources as World Wind, which are in the public domain. Diffused under the terms of the public License general GNU, its Source code is consultable by all.

The base only in 2D, a modification called World Wind 2D Plus One and developed by Patrick Murris makes it possible from now on to traverse the charts in 3D.
