The world Pacte is a pact suggested by Kofi Annan, an international initiative where it is requested from the large companies to join to the civil society and the organizations of UNO in order to support ten principles in the fields of the Environnement, of the Human rights and the laws the labor. The pact is a code of conduct which includes/understands 10 principles that the companies must commit to respect and put into practice.

History

The world, known Pact in English under the compact term Total , was initiated at the time of the World economic forum in January 2000 and is not juridically constraining. The tenth principle concerning corruption was added in 2004.

Ten principles

These ten principles are inspired by the Universal declaration of the human rights, the declaration relating to the principles and basic rights with work (International organization of work), the declaration of Rio on the environment and the development , the Convention of the United Nations against corruption .

• Human rights
• Principle 1: The companies must promote and respect the human rights recognized on the international plan;
• Principle 2: The companies should not be done accessory to violations of the basic rights.
• Standards of work
• Principle 3: The companies should respect the exercise of the right of association and recognize the right to the collective bargain;
• Principle 4: Elimination of all the forms of forced labor and obligatory;
• Principle 5: Effective abolition of the Work the children;
• Principle 6: Elimination of the discrimination employment exercise of a profession.
• Environment
• Principle 7: To promote a careful approach of the major problems concerning the environment;
• Principle 8: To take initiatives in favor of environmental practices more responsible;
• Principle 9: To encourage the development and the diffusion of respectful technologies of the environment.
• Fight against corruption
• Principle 10: The companies are invited to act against corruption in all its forms, including the bribe and extortion of money.
