The World Financial Center is a complex of buildings located in the district of Lower Manhattan, with New York. The complex is located on West Street, near the World Trade Center, and opposite the Hudson River. World Financial Center is composed of four principal buildings, One World Financial Center, the Two World Financial Center, the Three World Financial Center and the Furnace World Financial Center, connected to each other by Winter Garden, public space builds under a reinforcement of Verre and Acier culminating with 36 meters, by sheltering trees and plantations among which palm trees of twelve meters, coming from the Désert of Mojaves.

The complex shelters the seat of many affiliated undertakings more or less directly to the finance, among which Merrill Lynch and American Express, like Dow Jones & Company and the Wall Street Journal. The entirety of the complex is had by the real company Brookfield Properties , based with Toronto.

The architecture of the complex is the work of the American architect of Argentinian origin César Pelli in collaboration with Adamson Associates , and the construction, carried out under the supervision of the Canadian company Olympia and York spread out graft 1985 and 1988. The principal tenants of the building are the Commerzbank, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, Merrill Lynch, Nomura Group (Japanese conlomérat), State Street Corp. and Thacher Proffitt & Wood (law firm).

Three World Financial Center

The Three World Financial Center, completed in 1985 is the first tower of to be completed complex, but also highest, with a pyramidal roof the 225 m for 51 stages reach. Under the dome shops and coffees are côtoient (between the turns two and three), with a botanical decoration made up of plants and trees coming from various areas, including sixteen palm trees of twelve meters imported of the Désert of Mojaves in California. Surface available to the hiring is of 27,000 m ², and the principal shops are held by Banana Republic (clothing of luxury), Eckerd (pharmacies), Gap, Hallmark Cards (greetings cards) or Starbucks.

Consecutively with the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001, Winter Garden was closed and renovated, before reopening its doors in September 2002.

The NYMEX Building

Addition in 1997, NYMEX Building , located at the 1 North End Avenue counts only sixteen stages, for a creditable surface of 46,000 m ². As its name indicates it, the NYMEX Building is rented by the New York Mercantile Exchange (or NYMEX), but also by the New York Board off Trade (or NYBT).
