World Cyber Ranges
The World Cyber Games ( WCG ) is one of the most important event of electronic Sport (in English E-sport for electronic sports) in South Korea, sponsored by Samsung and since 2006 by Microsoft.
World Cyber Games were set up in 2000, under the initiative of Samsung Korea and managed by ICM (international cyber marketing) and the first festival was held in 2001, with, as with the Olympic Games, a village arranged for the candidates, and since 2004 a new organizing city each year.
The first WCG in France, named WCGC for world cyber ranges challenge, set up on Paris by Sam Hassanine in 2000 regoupait only some room of network games.
The WCG is one of the greatest festival of electronic sport, celebrated once per annum. It brings together the best players of the whole world, selected during the year in preliminary rounds.
The professional tournaments most largely recognized are those of the Cyberathlete Professional League, of World Cyber Games, the Electronic Sports World Cup, of the World Series off Video Ranges and of the World E-Sports Ranges.
