The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) is a coalition of 190 international companies linked by a common engagement of Sustainable development through the three pillars of the economic growth, ecological balance, and the social progress.

The WBCSD was created in 1995 by the fusion of the " Business Council for Sustainable Development" and of the " World Industry Council for the Environment" and is based in Geneva, in Switzerland.

He works on a whole of subjects relating to the Sustainable development, i.e development, energy and climate, the role of the Affaire S in the company, the Eau, the Energy efficiency in the buildings, and the Biodiversité.

Among his members, one finds companies known as General Motors, Dupont, 3M, Deutsche Bank, Coca-Cola, Sony, Caterpillar, BP, Royal Dutch Shell and Lafarge.

The WBCSD has also a regional network of 55 organizations partners having a community of sights in the world, of which two thirds are in the Developing country.
