World Community Grid

The site World Community Grid, in partnership with IBM, proposes to gather several projects of scientific research within the same project of Calcul distributed, in order to fight against several human diseases.

The World Community Grid puts its technology at disposal of the only public organizations or at nonlucrative goal so that they use it in humane research which, otherwise, would be likely not to lead because of the high blow of the computer infrastructure necessary in the absence of public infrastructure. This organization, within the framework of its engagement to make progress the wellbeing of the man, began so that all the results are versed with the Public domain and transmitted to the world scientific community. UNO is responsible for the selection of the projects.

In 2007, one of the current projects of World Community Grid is FightAIDS@Home which makes it possible to fight against the AIDS. Of another projects like the Decrypthon, the fight against the muscular Dystrophy, the fight against the Cancer, or the study of the folding up of the human Protéome are in the course of calculation.

Any person having a personal computer connected to Internet, and wishing to take part in the project, can be registered and take part in calculations.
