Worf ( Wo' rIv in klingon) is a character of the universe of Star Trek . It is one of the seven season old main characters of Star Trek: The new generation before joining the protagonists of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine as from the fourth season of this other series. It also appears in the last four feature-length films drawn from the work of Gene Roddenberry. It is the American actor Michael Dorn which lends its features to him.
When it enters to the Académie of Starfleet into 2357, besides it intends to acquire there a formation which will not prevent it from being regarded fundamentally as a warrior in the purest ideology klingonne. This double education is worth some vexations quickly compensated to him by qualities which enable him to be promoted later officer four years (with the rank of second lieutenant). It becomes first Klingon seeing itself entrusting such a station within the fleet and is used in particular for edge of the Hawk before receiving into 2364 its assignment on the Enterprise-D . It first of all shares there the role of controller of flight with Geordi the Forging mill. Before end of the year 2364 however, the disappearance of Tasha Yar makes him to it new chief of the safety of the vessel at the same time as he sees himself promoted with the rank of lieutenant. It fulfills these capital functions with a all the more large effectiveness as its direction of the honor prohibits to him any contrary dealing with honesty towards others, while its natural provisions push it to seek the glorious actions (without to push it to expose itself unnecessarily). Apart from the short period during which it leaves the Enterprise in order to engage at the sides of his Kurn brother and the chancellor Gowron in the civil war klingonne which bursts between 2367 and 2368, Worf is thus used as an officer as Starfleet and becomes lieutenant commander little before the destruction of the vessel ordered by Jean-Luc Picard into 2371.
On the sentimental level, Klingon is first of all deeply enthusiast of K' Ehleyr (in which the father alone is originating in Qo' our whereas his/her mother is Humain E) when he is yet only one simple junior by the Academy of Starfleet into 2359. It re-examines it six years later on board the Enterprise-D and it is with two fingers to marry it. Even if this marriage finally does not take place, these touching meeting again has as a result the design of a child. This last, which bears the name of Alexander Rozhenko, is born into 2366 (without the knowledge of Worf which adopts the same year, but like brother of blood, small Jeremy Aster, whose Marla mother died under her orders, according to the rite called “R' uustai”). K' Ehleyr however presents Alexander to his/her father only one year later, little before being assassinated by Duras. Klingon de Starfleet uses then of the right of revenge which the legislation of its native planet confers to him and it kills the murderer of that it liked. In 2369, Worf falls under the charm from Ba' el (born as for it of the union of an officer Romulien, Tokath, and of Klingonne named Gi' ral) in a prison camp installed from long time by the forces from Romulus in the middle of the system of Carraya. His/her new partner, who fears the reaction of the outside world in her connection, as a last resort decides nevertheless not to follow it out of the “prison” where it was born. The chief of the safety of Enterprise-D makes then the conquest of Deanna Troi, to which he saw himself married in a reality parallel with the beginning of the year 2370 (a union whose a two year old fore-mentioned young girl Shannara was supposed to represent the most beautiful fruit…) while the adviser lived as for it a empathic experiment during which it precipitated quite naturally in the arms of Klingon. It results from it a idylle which seems however to stop into 2371 when Worf temporarily leaves the fleet after the loss of its vessel on Véridian III.
At the end of its rupture with Starfleet (and Deanna Troi), which led it to achieve a new retirement with the monastery klingon of Boreth, Worf agrees into 2372 to go on the station Deep Space Nine in order to better include/understand the deployment of troops started by the Empire from which it is resulting. When it proves that the troops joined together by the Gowron chancellor under the command of the general Martok are on the point of invading space Cardassien, Worf is at the same time requested by the imperial army and the Fleet of the Fédération of plain planets. It chooses finally the camp in which it served as the years during and agrees to take again service, becoming chief of the strategic operations on DS9 all while testing themselves there with the role of mediator between Starfleet and Klingons (which it refuses to regard as its true enemies) or by taking the orders of the Defying (attached to the station) in its capacity as officer as a second of the vessel.
In 2373, it is thus implied on board this small building in the attack conducted against the Borgs which threaten the Ground. Téléporté on board new whole Enterprise-E , the klingon assists the Picard captain in his fight against the drones which invaded the vessel, undertook to assimilate its crew and threaten moreover to deteriorate the past of the Federation in an irremediable way.
Its assignment on Deep Space Nine also makes it possible Worf to cross new faces . If it is not insensitive with the brutal sensuality of Lady Grilka, leading of the old House Klingonne de Kozak brought to return visit to its ex-husband Quark into 2373, it succumbs thus to its attraction for the Trill Jadzia Dax. Their marriage, celebrated the following year, does not last however more few months since the young wife (who prepared to give a child to her couple) is attacked soon by Gul Dukat, then under the influence of a Pah-wraith. Only sound Symbiote survives confrontation to see itself entrusted to another Trill fore-mentioned Ezri. After this drama and in spite of a renewal of tenderness whereas the two officers were captured together by the Breen S during year 2375, Klingon de Starfleet will never manage however to find in Ezri Dax what he liked in Jadzia.
Always in 2375, Worf (which left DS9 in order to establish a safety zone against the Dominion in sector 441) finds once again its former fellow-members on board the Enterprise E and accompanies them on Ba' ku. It is then implied in the crisis which agitates this planet, source of an eternal youth coveted by powerful the Son' has and by some not very scrupulous leaders of Starfleet.
The lieutenant Worf commander joined then the station on which it is based, its role in the conflict which opposes the Federation to the Dominion proving to be capital since it very largely conditions the relations between the fleet and the Klingon Empire. When this last great power becomes again the allied one of Starfleet, the son of Mogh divides himself indeed between his compatriots and his colleagues officers, serving all and sundry with the courage and the direction of the honor which characterize it until the final victory on the Fondateurs (or Founders). At the end of the conflict against the Dominion (in which his/her own Alexander son implied himself at the sides of Klingons), Worf moreover is brought to discuss the orders of the Gowron chancellor whom it ends up defying and by putting at dead at the time of a singular combat. He refuses nevertheless to endorse the load of that which he has just killed and the offer with Martok which directs the Klingon Empire consequently. When the hostilities cease with end of the year 2375, the son of Mogh sees himself invited to represent the Federation on Qo' our and thus starts a diplomatic career.
These new functions by no means prevent it from attending into 2379 the marriage of William T. Riker (which has just been promoted captain of the Titan ) with Deanna Troi (which was named adviser on board same building). On the way for Betazed (where must be held the second part of the festivities) on board the Enterprise-E , Worf is brought to fight Shinzon at the sides of Romuliens which refuse to obey this last and he recognizes at the end of this confrontation that its old adversaries behaved in a honourable way .
The mother of Worf, Kassin, was expert technique of combat klingonne called Mok' will bara. At the six years age, little before going with them on Khitomer, the oldest son of Mogh and Kassin was itself besides very skilful in the handling of the traditional weapon answering in the name of Bat' leth.
Official source is known that Worf survived the massacre of Khitomer in company of its Khalest nurse before being dealt with by Sergey Rozhenko (the Interprid , on board of which it was useful, having answered the first the call to the help of Klingons survivors). It is known less on the other hand that the officer of Starfleet convinced his Helena wife to adopt small Klingon by explaining to him that the life of this one was threatened if it remained longer within the Empire precision is also provided by the novel '' The Art off the Impossible ''.
When Rozhenko leave the agrarian colony of Gault for the Earth, they are established in Bielorussia close to Minsk. In 2357, their two Nikolai sons and Worf enter together to the Academy of Starfleet where they are not long in forming an work group with the Brikar Zak Kebron, the Humains Mark McHenry and Tania Tobias as well as a Vulcan E of the name of Soleta. Believer to leave on mission for the space station Prometheus , the six juniors live in fact a simulation within a Holodeck but Nikolai Rozhenko leaves there if tested that it decides to give up integrating the fleet. It leaves the Academy then and turns over near his parents corresponding events are told in a way detailed in the novel of Peter David '' Starfleet Academy # 1: Worf' S First Adventure '', translated into France under the title '' Star Trek: Starfleet Academy - the first adventure of Worf ''.
A few months later, the team of juniors to which belonged Worf goes on Dantar IV (a colony Co-managed by the Human ones and Klingons). It is there that the pupil officer of Starfleet meets K' Ehleyr towards which it feels immediately attracted that the novel of Peter David '' Starfleet Academy # 2 brings it back: Line off Fire '', translated into France under the title '' Star Trek: Starfleet Academy 2 - Baptism of fire ''.
After having helped the colonists to escape their attackers brikars, Worf manages to convince Klingons not to stop the junior Zak Ebron for the simple reason which it belongs to these people (whose young people learn on this occasion that it has just declared the war with the Federation). It must then separate from K' Ehleyr and very being unaware of the EC what the future their reserve to both, it prevents it that they have little chance to be re-examined one conclusion day of this first meeting appears in the novel of Peter David '' Starfleet Academy # 3: Survival '', translated into France under the title '' Star Trek: Starfleet Academy 3 - Mission of survival ''.
If Worf is used for edge of the Hawk at its exit of the Academy, it seems that he is not long in being transferred on the Aldrin where he finds his former school-fellows Tania Tobias and Soleta. In 2363, it takes part with other officers of the same vessel in a mission on the planet Kalendra Minor. It is there confronted with the Romulien S for the first time since the attack of Khitomer assignment is evoked through the character of Soleta in the news '' Revelation '' written by Keith R.A. DeCandido for the anthology '' Star Trek: New Frontier - No Limits ''.
