Words and Music

Words and music is a film French - Canadian written, realized and produced by Elie Chouraqui, left in the French rooms in 1984. The music is present all along film is composed by Michel Legrand. It is about first film of Charlotte Gainsbourg, twelve years, she plays the part of the girl of Catherine Deneuve. Although the original version is in French, some dialogs are in English (Charlotte Gainsbourg and Nick Mancuso, Catherine Deneuve and Nick Mancuso)

History

Jeremy and Michel are two artists musicians. They divide together large a loft in Paris region and their passion for the Musique, they formed a group of music. They compose themselves the Parole S and the music of their songs and interprets them.

Margaux is married in Peter, a famous American writer. Whereas her husband lives with New York for the writing and the promotion of his novels, she lives in a large Parisian apartment, she is impassioned by her work, she is generally absent from at her and neglects her two children, Charlotte and Elliot. During one evening, Jeremy and Margaux meet and fall in love one with the other. Jeremy becomes the lover of Margaux and consequently occasion, his/her friend and confidant. Jeremy and Margaux are seen often furtively and secretly far from the glances, the night.

The day, Jeremy and Michel work in a restaurant to dine spectacles, where the waiters have dual employment, they serve and give a spectacle during the evening. Jeremy and Michel pass many Casting S in the hope to bore in the world of the Show business. It is during one of them that Michel meets Corinne and they fall immediately in love one with the other. Corinne is the girl of a producer. A little later Jeremy and Michel record a model in a Studio of recording thanks to the father of Corinne.

One morning, Jeremy is always in the apartment with Margaux, it is feverish and so weak that it is in the incapacity to rise. As Margaux cannot kasher Jeremy longer, it presents Jeremy to her children. Charlotte is anxious, she loves her parents and does not want to see them divorcing. She then telephones her father in New York to bring back the fact to him that there is a sick unknown at it, which more is in the bed of his/her mother. His/her father is opposed but does not show it. It reassures Charlotte, on the fact that when Jeremy is cured, it will leave. Thanks to its charm and spirit, Jeremy arrives without difficulty of conquering the friendship of Charlotte and Eliott. It passes a pleasant convalescence the day in company of the children of the woman whom it loves. Margaux is undecided on its love life. She likes Jeremy but she has evil to support her presence at the house. A few following days, Jeremy is cured, but before turning over at his place, it disputes with Margaux. During this time, Michel does not have any news of Jeremy. He is anxious. He passes a all alone casting, and it is taken to sing in a Musical comedy.

Reconciled, Margaux and Jeremy continue to be attended without hiding. Margaux does not want to raise his/her children any more. Peter arrives at Paris. He loves his children and his wife. He gives three itself and plane tickets Paris-New York to Margaux for the children. Margaux sends his/her children in their father to New York for the summer holidays and so that from now on they live with him. The summer passes, but, Margaux is bored without Charlotte and Elliot, Jeremy does not manage to fill the vacuum caused by the absence of the children. It joined them in New York. But, Margaux misses enormously in Jeremy. It is really in love. It occupies all its thoughts and it lost any musical creativity. Feeling useless, Michel then buys to him a plane ticket for New York.

From New York, Jeremy telephones Michel, he tells him that he met Margaux like all his family and that she had made the choice remain with her husband and their children. To comfort Jeremy, Michel makes him listen to the last music that it has just composed.

The efforts of Michel and Jeremy are rewarded, their talent is recognized by thousands of fans. Corinne is one of the first. They become a famous group, give concerts and have success.
