Woolly of the oak

The Eriogaster catax is a Lépidoptère pertaining to Lasiocampidae. It is called woolly oak or of the sloe in its form caterpillar.

  • Distribution: Europe with the the Ural.

  • Scale of the male: from 14 to 17 Misters
  • Period of flight: autumn and spring.
  • Habitat: forests of leafy trees.
  • Plant-hosts: Crataegus , Quercus , Betula , Populus , Prunus , Berberis .
