Wood-of-Villers
Wood-with-Villers (in Walloon Li Bwès-of-City) is a section of the common Belgian of Profondeville located in Walloon region in the Province of Namur.
It was a commune with whole share before the fusion of the communes of 1977.
It is on the heights of western bank of the Meuse.
Origin
The rather poetic name of the village finds its origin in 1231, year when the Monks of the Abbaye of Villers-the-City receive part of the Forest of the Marlagne. The site was then baptized " Wood of the Monks of Villers" , and soon " Wood-of-Villers".
Wood-of-Villers
Currently, the village is in full expansion and has many trade and PMEs. Very wide, and somewhat heteroclite from the provision of its streets and lanes, Wood-of-Villers present nevertheless of many tourist curiosities: modern church (1972), " Ecolatrie" (XVIIe century), panorama (" Point of view of Sibérie"), potales and vaults, " Hole of Nutons" , tank of the " Cibe" ,…
The village also has its club of tennis Site of the club of tennis located beside the Center Euro and also its ground of foot to a few meters of the club.
With Wood-of-Villers, two close schools accommodate the children from 3 to 12 years: the elementary school and the private school of the Sacred Heart. One also finds there the seat of CPAS of the commune of Profondeville. The weekend, the young people from 6 to 18 years can find themselves behind the church hall, with the room of the Unit Scoute&Guide (XIIIè).
Tally
The village is in the center of a generous and very undulating nature, including/understanding meadows, wood and thickets and many orchards. It is thus a place of walks, holiday (many possibilities of lists to the farm and rooms of hosts) and escapades family or solitary very pleasant.
