Means of access:
Area timbered until the medium of 19th. This one will be occupied, after the fall of the first Empire (1815), by the Cosaques which establish a camping. The first dwellings will be guinguettes built to accommodate the Sunday strollers, increasingly many because of the expansion of Asnières.

The limits of its territory are given with depend on Colombes, the Mayor of Asnières, Mr. Hector-Gonsalve Fontaine, having declared with vehemence " --- that he wanted to yield neither an inch of ground, nor a hardcore of the houses of his city! ---" . The commune will be attached to the canton of Courbevoie (district of St Denis) the wooded small island located close to the village of Doves, in the past dedicated to hunting then for the walk becomes a charming village, already connected to Paris by three railway lines. The proximity of the capital supports the development of the agglomeration and quickly becomes an important village inhabited by artists, scientists, tradesmen and employees. At the day of sound " indépendance" it is already equipped with a church, a school (Paul-Bert) and larger market of the surroundings.

For the electoral deadlines of 2007 Wood-Doves belongs to the 82 communes of more than 3500 inhabitants having used the machines to vote.
Wood-doves gives each other mayors of right-hand side with a great regularity, in spite of internal quarrels with this camp, which sometimes could turn to the settling of score. Emile Tricon, mayor during 33 years (senator of 1986 with 1988), left in September 1986 (after its accession with the seat of senator of the Hauts-de-Seine - to actually allow Charles Pasqua to take again this seat in 1988 - its seat in the course of mandate with its assistant Jean-François Probst. The national ambitions of this one, it will finish adviser of Jacques Chirac, led the Wood-Colombians, little filled with enthusiasm by projects which seemed to have to harm the provincial atmosphere of the city, to get rid of it at the end of a mandate. Roger Blinière, who succeeded to him, will lose to him also his seat at the end of his mandate (following very particular real estate projects) to the profit of Yves Révillon, re-elected in 2001, which was also elected general adviser!
Wood-doves at the time of the elections of 2007 is completely equipped with machines with E-voting. Moreover, 3 machines broke down on April 22nd (Source: The Parisian one of April 24th, 2007) and the latencies reached records, until sometimes two hours.
Wood-doves is traditionally divided into several districts:
Located in the north of the Hauts-de-Seine, Wood-Doves is a primarily residential city. The street of Burgundian (old RN 309a), bordering on Asnières-sur-Seine is the most important commercial street of the north of the peninsula of Gennevilliers. The city counted several notable companies in the cosmetics (Payot), the ball bearings (SKF) but mainly aeronautics (Hispano-Suiza). Impossibility for the companies of extending and the value from the grounds led to a disindustrialization of the commune. The departure of Hispano-Suiza, which provided the quarter of the receipts of the city, was lived like a catastrophe by the inhabitants. However the site of the Heathers which Hispano-Suiza occupied, and the head offices which are established there seem to bring a new breath to Wood-Doves since 2004. The companies Revived as Colgate-Palmolive recently settled there.
Served well by the train (one counts three stations connected to Saint-Lazare in or in the vicinity immediate of the city: Wood-Doves, Bécon-the-Heathers and the Valleys), Wood-Doves on the other hand is circumvented by all the road main roads crossing the north of the Hauts-de-Seine, which enables him to maintain a quasi-provincial atmosphere.
In 2002, the share of the households whose monthly net income exceeded 3511 € was of 17,8% compared with 21,1% for the department.
If Wood-Doves is thus located among the cities whose income per capita remains relatively relatively low, this figure of 17,8% is one of strongest in the north of the department. Moreover, the population of Wood-Doves is one of oldest north of the Hauts-de-Seine.
With the center even of the commune one can distinguish two rather distinct geographical areas whose separation, even if it cannot be clearly established, could be the street Victor-Hugo. Thus the population of the south of Wood-Doves, where the town hall and the nautical center are located, consists of households to the incomes more consequent than in north. It will be noticed besides that the south of the côtoie city of the rather easy cities such as Courbevoie or the Garenne-Doves while north is very close to Top-in Asnières (in the past districts north) to Asnières-sur-Seine or resident of the households to the more modest incomes. If the policy of embellishment of the municipal team is especially centered on the district of the Heathers and the center town, an action of rehabilitation of the northern district is undertaken by important work of the place Jean Mermoz and especially by the creation of a new college.
The old blower of the factory Hispano-Suiza, with the Heathers, is classified. It was transformed into school at the time of the disindustrialization of the site.
Apart from the blower, the most notable monument is the town hall of 1935. Its belfry verdigris, visible with several kilometers with the round, is often used as benchmark to the Wood-Colombians to guide the visitors!
The town hall was used for film turnings:
1980 : Banking the of Francis Girod
Births
They followed there their schooling
Martin Solveig passed his youth to Wood-Doves.
