Wonck (in Walloon Wonk ) is a section of the common Belgian of Bassenge located in Walloon region in the Province of Liege.

It was a commune with whole share before the fusion of the communes of 1977.

History

Walloon village, Wonck was attached to the department of the Meuse-Lower (mainly Flemish) under the French mode. At the time of the division of the Province of Limbourg between the Belgium and the Netherlands, Wonck was transferred to the province from Limbourg (mainly Flemish) in 1839.

It is only into 1963 that Wonck was transferred to the Province from Liege.
