The mill De Hoop

The mill De Hoop is a mill with corn located on the Molendijk , with the periphery of Wolphaartsdijk. It is a round mill with gallery, out of brick, the covered roof of tarpaulin and having a scale of 22 meters. It goes back to 1808. It is a characteristic mill located on a Digue.

At the time of its construction, it was a mill of the type grondzeiler : the wings could be reached since the ground. After a conflict about the rights of wind and the demolition of the trees of a wood, the owner of then raised in 1894 the mill of 10,5 meter, transforming it into mill with gallery. Following a fire in 1993, the roof was remade and the tower was again raised of 70 cm. These interventions give to the De Hoop its single appearance.
