Wolfgang Uhlmann
Wolfgang Uhlmann (March 29th 1935 with Dresden, GDR -) is a German player of failures .
He was six times national champion of GDR: 1954,1955,1958,1964,1975 and 1976. He obtains the title of international Large-Master (GMI) in 1959.
Its best international results are:
- first with the tournaments of Hastings (1959 and 1966 - with Spassky);
- Sarajevo (1964 with Polougaevsky);
- Havana (1964 with Smyslov);
- Zagreb (1965 with Ivkov);
- Market (1982).
It represents GDR with the Olympiades of failures between 1956 and 1970.
It is known like a specialist in the French Défense, in connection with which it published several works.
