Wolfgang Haas

Wolfgang Haas is current the Archevêque of Vaduz (Liechtenstein).

Born on August 7th, 1948 in Vaduz, he becomes priest on April 7th, 1974 at the 25 years age.

In 1988, it is named auxiliary bishop of the diocese of Coire.

Two years later, it becomes bishop of Coire. It will remain it until December 2nd, 1997, date of its nomination like archevèque of Vaduz.

Positions

Mgr Haas is a defender of the life " design with dead the naturelle". It fights thus against the Avortement and the Voluntary interruption of pregnancy.

Controversies

During the period of its episcopate with Coire, the relations between the bishop and the faithful ones knew certain dissensions. The Vatican solved finally the question by moving Mgr Haas. In 1997, the pope indeed separated Liechtenstein from the diocese of Coire to set up the principality in Archidiocèse and to place Mgr Haas there at his head.

Famous near to the traditionalists, of the rumors would place it at the head of possible a " ordinariat independent not territorial" who could be created by the Pope.
