Wojciech Fortuna

Wojciech Fortuna (born the March 6th 1952) is a skijumper Polish. It was undoubtedly the Olympic champion of ski jump more surprising history, because the day of the finale of the test of jump on large springboard of the Winter Olympics of Sapporo, nobody saw on the podium this modest jumper whose best place had been up to now a place of 18th at the time of the stage of Bischofshofen of the Tournée of the four springboards 1970/1971. Been useful by the strong wind which blew this day, Fortuna gained Olympic gold at the time of the only success of the career. With this resounding victory obtained over the minimal margin of 0,1 point in advance on the second, Fortuna became the first Pole gold medal with the Winter Olympics.

To return justice to its qualities of jumper, it is advisable nevertheless to recall that he was classified 6th test on small springboard of these same Olympic Games.
