Wogo , ethnos group of the Niger and Mali of the group Songhaï. On the cultural level they are very close to the Songhaï S, speak almost the same language as them (Songhaïs). They are Moslem, but practice the dances of possession Holey.
They occupy the edges of the river and the islands of the Fleuve Niger, which they divide with the Djermas the Kourteï S and Songhaïs. There exist three communities Wogo, all islanders: Boura (with the Mali), islands of the area of Tillabéry and Ayorou (with the Niger) and Zaria (Kala ‑ kala) with the Nigeria.
Wogos cultivate the Riz and the Tabac, to which are added complementary productions: Millet, Corn, fishing and breeding.
The rising and the fall of the river rythment their agricultural life. Their craft industry is interesting, especially for weaving and basket making.
