Witold Rowicki
Witold Rowicki , born with Taganrog the February 26th 1914 and died in Warsaw on October 1st 1989, was a Musicien and Leader Polish.
He studied the Violon and the composition with the Academy of Cracow. During the war, he lived in Germany where he worked the direction of orchestra into private with Rudolf Hindemith, the brother of the famous type-setter Paul Hindemith. But until the end of the war, it continued its career of violonist. It took part, with the Release, the foundation of the Orchestre of the Radio of Katowice, then with that of the Philharmonic society of Warsaw. It becomes about it the Musical director between 1958 and 1977. Its reputation exceeds the borders of its country and he became first Bavarian leader of Bamberg (1982-85). Rowicki left a solid integral of the symphonies of Antonín Dvořák, for the Philips mark, and of testimonys of its engagement in favor of the Polish modern music (Szymanowski and Lutoslawski in particular).
