With the research of the Earth is the whole of the twelfth and thirteenth episodes of the first season of the Televised series Battlestar Galactica .

Detailed summary

First part

The vice-president recently elected Gaïus Baltar makes love with Starbuck, but when it calls by the first name Lee, the situation becomes embarrassing. Starbuck leaves the apartments of Baltar which, badly at ease, passes the remainder of the day to reject Numéro Six and is unable to concentrate on its duties.

During this time, Apollo and the commander Adama involve themselves together in the sports hall. After a short moment, Adama puts his/her son on the ground. He says to him that the reason for which he will never gain and which it is too rigid, he never loses his control.

Always at the same time, Boomer-of the '' Galactica '' has a depressive phase and plans to draw a ball with its weapon from service. It takes again rest when it called on mission.

Later, the president Laura Roslin receives bad news of the Doctor Cottle. Its cancer worsened and reached its lymphatic Système. Cottle gives him six months with living.

In bay of hangar, Apollo, irritated, faces Starbuck after having learned that it had slept with Baltar. Their argument comes to the fists and Apollo is withdrawn, feeling completely wounded.

In space, Boomer and lieutenant Crashdown discover a close planet. When they return with the data, which show artificial buildings on surface, Roslin is persuaded that it is about planet from where humanity comes, Kobol. Inclined with the doubt, Adama prepares a team of monitoring to explore it.

After Baltar announced to him that it was a cylonne, Boomer, despaired, tries to commit suicide in its districts.

The team of exploration is attacked by hunters cylons with the top of Kobol. One of the three raptors is destroyed and another turns over near the Galactica . The third, carried out by Crashdown and including Doctor Baltar, the chief the Tyrol and the specialist Cally, manages to be crushed on the surface of Kobol.

The visions of Roslin continue, undoubtedly because of the effects of the drug which it takes to fight its cancer. She announces with the Elosha priestess that she believes that old prophecy saying that Kobol will show the way of the Ground and that itself was selected to carry out the fleet to it.

She manages to convert Starbuck with her cause into revealing to him that Adama had lied while protesting with the fleet which it knew where the Earth was. Rather than to follow the orders of Adama, having for goal the destruction of a bases cylonne orbits about it around Kobol, Starbuck steals the hunter cylon captured and turns over on Caprica to find the “Flèche of Apollo”, an artefact which, according to Roslin, will unearth the secrecies of Kobol.

On Caprica, Boomer continues Helo. It draws to him in the shoulder when she sees it. Helo prefers to kill it immediately, but she manages to convince it that she is really on her side. It retains it as an hostage, hoping that she helps it to find a means of leaving planet, disturbing to trust him whereas it knows that she is a cylonne.
