With fire, firemen! ( Horí, má panenko ) is a Czech film carried out by Milos Forman, left in 1967.

Synopsis

In a small town of Tchéquoslovaquie the ball of the firemen prepares. It will be the occasion to give the hâche of gold to the former chief of the firemen, today aged 86 years. The committee envisaged a ball, but also a tombola and the election of Miss firemen.

Around film

the film and its author will undergo the pressures not only State but also of the producer Carlo Ponti. At the time of sound visionnage, the politburo as well as the producer will agree to find film pessimistic and devaluing for the working class. It will be interdict of exploitation to life on the Czechoslovakian territory. The producer will assert in addition to one not respect of the contractual duration of film to enjoin the realizer to refund the sums spent. They are finally François Truffaut and Claude Berri which will assist from Milos Forman by repurchasing the rights.
With Fire firemen! is the last Czechoslovakian film of Milos Forman.
