Wish of Louis XIII

One calls wish of Louis XIII the dedication of the France to the Virgin Mary by the king Louis XIII on February 10th, 1638, following the pregnancy of his wife Anne of Austria after twenty years of marriage. In 1637, Louis XIII had formulated the wish to devote his kingdom to the Virgin if a heir were born. Their first wire, Louis-Dieudonné, future Louis XIV, will be born the next on September 5th.
