Wish is a Manga of CLAMP, published in French with the editions Tonkam. Four volumes on the whole.

Summary of the history

One night, Shinichirô, a young surgeon, saves a little girl attacked by a corbel. She is called Ambre and been actually a Ange sent on Earth for a mission of the more high importance.

In thanks, Ambre wants to carry out a wish for Shinichirô. But this one does not sometimes happen to formulate some, claiming not to need anything. Amber settles then at his place, while waiting for that it decides.

But the Grenadian demon, whose favorite pastime is to annoy Ambre, is not far.

Characters

Shuichirô Kudô

Young surgeon, his mother is Hotaru, his grandfather is Shinichirô.

Very nice, it expresses only seldom its feelings, appearing thus indifferent.

Vis-a-vis extraordinary too much, it does not know how to react. When it saves Ambre which says to him that “she is an angel”, he believes to dream. Even when he sees it the morning in his true form of angel, he wants to convince himself that he still sleeps.

When Ambre requires of him which wish it wishes to see exaucer, it explains to him why he does not have any in particular. It accepts however that she remains at his place until it decides, and goes even until helping it in her mission.

Shuichirô very easily accepts the intrusion of this angel in its life, not more than it does not appear disturbed by the appearance of Grenadian, Jade or Obsidian.

It is only gradually that it will realize wish which it wishes: that Ambre remains close to him for always. It will have time to formulate it, and to hear Ambre answer him, before dying prematurely.

Amber

Angel, it with the appearance of an young woman.

Sent on Earth to seek Jade, it is saved of a corbel by Shuichirô, and wishes to thank it. It settles at his place while waiting for that he expresses his wish.

With the Sky, its function is single: its pure heart and its song make it possible the cherubs to be born and come towards the Almighty.

Of a great naivety, it does not control yet very well the magic. Consequently it becomes very small with fallen the night, regaining its “adult” shape only with the rising of the sun. However it controls sufficiently the temporal magic for, with the Grenadian assistance of , to go up time and to meet Hotaru.

Although she wants of all her heart to help Shuichirô, she often makes silly things. She is also unable to support the sight of fish or meat, disappearing immediately. She nourishes rays of the sun.

However it helps with the watering of the garden, using its magic to control water, and its songs make the happiness of the birds.

Going back to the Sky on direct order of the Almighty, it cannot forget Shuichirô, and, without authorization, turns over on Earth. It is only later that it understands that it likes it and wishes to live with him.

To be gone down on Earth without authorization, it is private of its capacities of angel during hundred years, and thus takes to its form “little girl”. It is however happy that Shuichirô formulates finally its wish, which is that it remains with him, which it wishes more than all in the world.

With died of Shuichirô, it is ploughed up, and ready to undergo any punishment of the Almighty. But she learns that, in hundred years, the heart of Shuichirô will be réincarnera, and that she will be able to live with him. Prevented by Jade that, of all its potentially eternal life, it will not be able to forget Shuichirô, mortal, Ambre do not hesitate a second to accept the divine “punishment”.

Grenadian

Demon, its principal occupation is to annoy Ambre. It is him which sends the corbel which attacks it.

Just like Amber, it does not control sufficiently the magic to maintain permanently its form “adult”. Contrary to it, he becomes little boy the day, becoming again adult the night.

Learning the presence from Amber on Earth, it goes down there to include/understand why it, among all the angels, was chosen, and which is its mission. He will call upon his maidservants Bérylia and Crystalla to assist it.

In spite of its pleasure of annoying Amber, he will be revolted by his deprivation of his capacities of angel during hundred years, treating the Almighty of all the names. During the hundred years of Amber sleep, there is bored to die, but control the magic enabling him to remain adult lasting during the day.

Bérylia

Completely devoted to Grenadian, it can be transformed into cat.

Answering the call of its Master, it comes on Earth to help it with espionner Ambre and to include/understand which is its mission.

Crystalla

Just like Bérylia, it is entirely devoted to Grenadian, and can be transformed into cat. It also comes to help it with espionner Ambre

Mr Lapinou

Small rabbit holding a flower, he is the direct messenger of the Almighty. It is him which will transmit to Ambre the order to return to the Sky, that it refuses by sending in return a requiring message of time to thank Shuichirô for having saved it.

It is also him which transmits to Ambre shot down by the death of Shuichirô its “punishment”, to sleep hundred years while waiting for that the heart of Shuichirô réincarne.

Jade

Angel of the air, it has was the Master of Ambre, teaching him the magic in particular.

Its disappearance causes interrogations with the Sky, and Amber is sent to seek it. Actually it left with Obsidian, and lost its nature of angel by having a relation with him.

After the death of Shuichirô, it and Obsidian will take care on its house during the Amber sleep.

Obsidian

Wire of the prince of the Hells, the most important character of the kingdom.

Its favorite pastime is to dredge the angels, and to have making a relation with them, them lose their nature of angel. This is why it is often late, or absent, with the meetings between Ciel and Hells.

It is at the time of one of these meetings, on the bridge connecting Ciel and Hells, which it meets Jade. Amazed to learn that it is the angel of the air, he realizes that he likes it, and decides to protect it. According to the habit, it gives him half of its capacities, contained in its left eye, from where a white iris.

It is the first to understand that Shuichirô has something of odd, and that it will die soon. But it cannot say it, each time the Almighty intervenes to prevent it from revealing what it knows.

Shinichirô

Grandfather of Shuichirô, only sons of his/her only son now deceased. Business man, it sees only often his grandson, travelling in all the countries of the world.

Meeting Amber at the time of a visit, it quickly includes/understands that it and Shuichirô are in love, even if they do not realize yet there.

Intrigued by Amber, it does not take it with serious when she says being an angel.

Hotaru

Mother of Shuichirô, it is actually the spirit of a Glycine. Blind man, it cannot only move. However it is able to see Grenadian Ambre and , which does not belong to its time (they went up time to include/understand what occurred).

Her husband, the father of Shuichirô, is the wire connecting it to this world. This is why, one year before its death, it must disappear, turn over in its state of glycine.

It will help Ambre, trapped in the past by Grenadian, to join the present, by using its vital energy.

Diamantine

Angel of water, it is sent on Earth to bring back Ambre. But she does not say anything to Jade or Obsidian, claiming not to be interested in the stories of love.

In spite of its air revêche, it is very sensitive, having understood well that Jade had left with Obsidian on Earth to have seen them together on the bridge connecting Ciel and Ground.

Kyanos

Angel of the ground, it seems to have weak for Diamantine.

Hard

Angel of fire, it is in love with Jade and supports very badly that it is flees with Obsidian.
