Wisdom tooth
The tooth wisdom is the third Molaire. It is inconstant. The human being has 4 of them but some can have some less.
Often it is formed, but cannot completely make its eruption in mouth. That is due:
- is with a lack of place. The wisdom tooth is often located at the level of the rising branch of the mandible; it thus partially or is completely blocked.
- is because its axis of eruption is not correct. The wisdom teeth often have whimsical axes of eruption, and very variable forms.
When the Dent is with half in mouth (it is said that it is wedged ), it is that it will not be able to leave more. In this case it will be necessary to proceed to its avulsion.
Indeed such a tooth is likely to involve infectious phenomena: Perished-coronarite, marginal Cyst, Cellulite S. In fact especially the teeth wisdom mandibulaires create Pathologie S.
The avulsion of the wisdom teeth can be carried out by a Chirurgien-dentiste (all do not practice this type of operation) or a Stomatologue.
It can be realized under Local anesthesia or general. That depends on several factors: many teeth to be removed; degree of formation of the teeth; depth of inclusion; general state of the patient; co-operation of the patient. The operation being relatively banal, the local anesthesia is generally the adopted solution.
