Wire of Fëanor
The wire of Fëanor are characters of the imaginary universe of J.R.R. Tolkien.
Fëanor and Nerdanel had seven children in Valinor, number unequalled among the Eldar. Their names are:
-
Maedhros, the elder one;
- Maglor, famous for its voice and its talents of type-setter;
- Celegorm the fair one;
- Caranthir sinks it;
- Curufin the crafty one, that which inherited more of the character and the talent his/her father;
- Amrod and
- Amras, two twins.
They lent the Serment of Fëanor with their father, swearing to take again the Silmarils with their robber, Morgoth, the Dark Lord, and left Valinor for the Ground of the Medium to its continuation. With died of Fëanor, it is Maedhros which should have become the High King of the Noldor in exile, but in order to alleviate the always strong tensions between the partisans of the house of Fëanor and those of the house of Fingolfin, Maedhros gave up its rights to the capacity with the profit of his/her uncle Fingolfin. During this time, Finarfin, younger brother of Fingolfin, became sovereign rare Noldor remained in Valinor. Thus, like had predicted Mandos, the house of Fëanor it was called “Dépossédés”, because the capacity had them escaped as well side as other of the Large Sea.
In Beleriand, the wire of Fëanor established their kingdom in the east, between Doriath and the Blue Montagnes. The other Elves hardly appreciated them because of their oath, and these internal dissensions served the goals of Morgoth. Remainder, the seven brothers could be also made hate while acting in a harmful way, in particular Celegorm and Curufin which tried to seize Nargothrond by the trick, and wanted to force Lúthien to marry Celegorm.
It is finally their oath which caused their loss. Curufin, Caranthir and Celegorm died at the time of the attack against Doriath in order to take again with Dior the Silmaril that Beren had torn off with the crown of Morgoth. A few years later, they attacked Le Havre of Sirion, having learned that Elwing, which had the Silmarils of his/her Dior father, there remained. Amrod and Amras perished at the time of this attack, but Elwing managed to flee. At the time of the fall of Morgoth, only Maglor and Maedhros were always in life. If Maglor were eager to give up the oath which had caused so much difficulties, Maedhros always wished it to hold and it convainquit his/her brother to conceal the two last Silmarils, Eärendil having carried that of his wife Elwing in the firmament. But their misdeeds had removed straight to them on the jewels, which burned the hands to them. Maedhros, of despair, was thrown in a burning crack (carrying the last Silmaril with him, and Maglor threw it in the sea head disappearing towards an unknown destiny.
The only grandson of Fëanor is Celebrimbor, wire of Curufin, which took part largely in the manufacture of the Rings of Being able during the Second Age.
