Winter Olympics of 1968

The Xes Winter Olympics took place in 1968 with Grenoble, Isere, France.

Organization

The others cities candidates were Calgary (Canada), Lahti (Finland), Sapporo (Japan), Oslo (Norway) and Lake Placid (the United States).

The presidency of the Steering Committee of the Olympic Games (C.O.J.O) of Grenoble was held by Albert Michallon, surgeon of his state and Maire of Grenoble of 1959 to 1965. In addition to Grenoble, the plays took place in the winter sports resorts of Saint-Nizier-of-Moucherotte the, Villard-with-Lans, Autrans, Chamrousse and Alpe d' Huez.

  • Jean-Claude Killy obtains the gold medal in all the tests of Alpine skiing.

  • Peggy Fleming is the revelation of the figure skating, where it obtains the gold medal.
  • the skier Marielle Goitschel gains the slalom and succeeds his/her Christine sister with the prize list of the Olympic Games.
  • the national hero Jean-Claude Killy was essential in the tests of Alpine skiing Sirs, but only after the greatest controversy of the history of the Winter Olympics.
