Winslow Homer
Winslow Homer (February 24th 1836 - September 29th 1910) is an especially known American painter for his navy. Mainly self-educated, he is however regarded as being one of the principal painters of the 19th American century and one of the figures preeminent of American art.
Biography
Born with Boston, it enters initially a workshop of lithography to Boston as an apprentice. It is in 1859 that it begins its career of painter with New York by opening its first studio.He travels to France in 1867. He spends two years of his life in the north of England (1881-1882).
He painted many marine S. an art critic wrote in connection with his tables: “It is as if one invited the ocean in his living room”.
Its work is impressed of strength and realism. It used mainly two techniques: oil and the Watercolour.
