Winnie the bear cub ( Winnie-tea-Pooh ) is a character of the literature of childhood created in 1926 by Alan Alexander Milne. The illustrations of the works are the work of Ernest Howard Shepard.

The character of Winnie, a bear cub becomes fluffy animated, was inspired by it with the author by his son whom he saw playing with his cuddly toys. In the same way that the children invent stories of which they are the only ones to perceive the stakes, Winnie and his/her friends live adventures which can seem ridiculous to the adults. The universe in which these characters evolve/move is nice and merry without being stripped of concerns.

Adopted and adapted by Walt Disney, the adventures of Winnie the bear cub knew many adaptations thereafter, until becoming a star of the derivative products at the 3-8 years. First French translation, due to Jacques Grandpa, date of 1946.

In the cartoons, Roger Carel double Winnie the bear cub and Coconut Rabbit.

Origin

The name of Winnie was chosen by the author in reference to a ourse boarder of the Zoo of London where it was accustomed to going with his son. The animal had been given to the zoo by the Captain Harry Colebourn, veterinary surgeon in the Canadian army, at the time of the First World War. Colebourn had tamed the ourse and had baptized it Winnipeg in remembering its birthplace. It had bought it with a Trappeur in the town of White River in Ontario.

Character

Winnie is a bear cub which the narrator of its adventures often describes as little gumption . In fact, it is not inevitably very intelligent, but has a large heart, and helps his friends. Its nice sin is greediness, it is particularly fond of delicacies of Miel, which will be worth sometimes some concern to him, near the Abeilles amongst other things.

In its adventures, Winnie is surrounded most of the time by his/her faithful friends:
  • Jean-Christophe (in English Christopher Robin ), practically the only human one represented.

  • Tigrou ( Tigger ), to leap and have fun seems its principal occupations. His unconcern particularly is noted.
  • Porcinet ( Piglet ), it business mainly to go its interior soft and comfortable. It is characterized by a great timidity and much of concern.
