Wings of the night (original title: Nightwings ) is a Romance of Science-fiction of Robert Silverberg published in the the United States in 1969 and France in 1975.

Synopsis

Overcome many years ago by the human race, the extraterrestrial ones promised that they would be avenged and that one day they would invade the Earth. Time passed, human civilization has periclity and is not any more that shade of itself, but the tradition maintains the memory of a possible threat coming d'ailleurs.
The guettor Wuelig is member of the caste charged to supervise the sky with his psychic capacities. However, this waiting hitherto always vain, finds one day its raison d'être.
