Wine committee of action

The wine Committee of action ( CAV ) or wine Regional committee of action ( CRAV ) is a group of radical wine producer. He asserted certain numbers of violent actions.

He regularly carries out waves of attacks during periods of strong tensions around the question of the vine growing.

The CRAV took several actions against foreign wines (in particular been essential Italy or of Spain) that the CRAV regards as handicapping.

Lists of the actions of the CRAV

The following list is not exhaustive.
  • March 4th 1976, a shooting bursts between two companies of CRS and several hundreds of wine growers, making two dead (a commander of CRS and a wine grower) with Montredon (Aude).
  • December 6th 1998, attack with Narbonne: a room of the tax office of Narbonne (Aude) was destroyed by an attack with the explosive in the night of the Friday to Saturday, without making of casualty. Mention “CRAV: freezing” was registered on a wall, in reference to the freezing which touched the Vignoble audois, on April 14th, after which the wine growers claimed a help of 145 franc million.
  • February 23rd 2002: Attack asserted by the CAV with Cazedarnes in Occitanie against an electric station. The damage is about 150.000 €. An inscription is on the spot raised “CAV Vivra”.
  • February 27th 2002: Attack asserted by the CAV in Occitanie. Two explosive loads damaged a cupboard which orders four crossings level and the indication of the Ligne Tarascon-Carcassonne, borrowed by TGV Paris-Perpignan. The traffic is cut during two hours. the SNCF denounced one act of ill will of a particular gravity who could have had extremely serious consequences . The wine growers of Languedoc-Roussillon, exasperated by the crisis of the profession, wanted to protest against the judgment of one as of their, following his participation in the confusion of the regional management of the repression of the frauds.
  • March 26th 2005: Acts of vandalism, asserted at AFP by the wine Committee of action , were made, early Saturday morning, causing material extensive damage in several supermarkets of Languedoc-Roussillon, to protest against the policy of fall of the prices in large distribution, according to police sources. Several individuals, the face encagoulé, according to witnesses, set fire to several hundreds of carriages and destroyed the shelters out of glass where they were stationed in front of the Leclerc centers of Béziers (Herault), of Nimes and the Angles (Gard), before the opening hour of the stores.
  • April 1st 2005: Attacks against directions of the agriculture of Languedoc-Roussillon. Attacks, signed by the wine Regional committee of action, aimed in the night from Thursday, March 31 to Friday the 1st er April, the regional management of agriculture with Montpellier, as well as the departmental antennas of Nimes (Gard) and Carcassonne (Aude).
