Windsor Star

The Windsor Star is only the regional Quotidien of Windsor and the county of Essex, Ontario. It appears six days per week, of the Monday to Saturday and has an assistantship more than any other Canadian regional newspaper.

Originally appeared in weekly form in 1888 under the name of Windsor Record , it becomes the Border Cities Star in 1918 at the time of its repurchase by W.F. Hermann. Become the Windor Daily Star in 1935, it will become the Windsor Star in 1959.

To died of Hermann in 1938, the newspaper will be successively directed by Adie Knox Hermann (the widow of Hermann), then by Hugh Graybiel and W.L. Clark.

In 1971, the Windsor Star is repurchased by Southam Close, then in 2000 by CanWest Global which always holds it.
