Windshield
A windshield is a Vitre located in front of a Véhicule which makes it possible to protect the Passager S from the Vent while ensuring a good visibility the driver.
The first windshields appeared in 1899. At their beginnings, they flat and were assembled using a " ficelle" between the lips of the joint. In the Years 1950, it was possible to manufacture curves of them in order to improve the aérodynamisme of the vehicles (Panhard Dyna Z,…).
Since 1983, they are obligatorily carried out in laminated Verre in order to reduce the risks of wound in the event of accident and are generally stuck. The first model with being equipped with a laminated windshield is the Volvo PV444 in 1944.
Glass can be tinted or reflective (athermic) in order to reduce the solar Rayonnement in the cockpit of the car. Certain windshields are also equipped with a detector of Pluie in order to activate the Essuie-glace automatically. Other windshields are heating to eliminate mist or the white frost.
In certain countries, one sticks there a automobile Vignette, a certificate of Assurance or a label of Technical control.
