Wilton is a city located in the county of Fairfield, in the State of the Connecticut (the United States). According to the census of 2000, Wilton had a total population of 17.663 inhabitants.

According to the Office of the Census of the United States, surface of the east city of 70,9 km ², including 69,8 km ² of grounds and 1,1 km ² of water levels (either 1,50%).

According to the Census of 2000, there were 17.663 inhabitants, 5.923 households, and 4.874 families in the city. The Population density was of 252,6 hab/km ². There were 6.113 houses with a density of 87,6 maisons/km ². The ethnic decomposition of the population was: 95,55% white; 0,60% black; 0,09% Amerindian; 2,69% Asian S; 0,01% natives of the islands of the Peaceful ; 0,27% of the other races; 0,79% of two or more races. 1,53% of the population were Hispanique or Latino of any race.

There were 5.923 households, of which 46,6% had children of less than 18 years, 75,4% were married couples , 5,4% had a woman who was isolated relative, and 17,7% were not-family households. 15,3% of the households were made up people alone and 6,6% 65 years people alone or more. The average household comprised 2,91 people and the average family had 3,25 people.
