Williams College is an American private university located at Williamstown, Massachusetts. It is among universities of the liberal arts more prestigious of the the United States. The university counts 2.000 students.

Williams is founded in 1793 by the field of Ephraim Williams to the foot of the Mont Greylock, with approximately of 233 km in the west of Boston, and 266 km in the north of New York. When Henry David Thoreau saw the campus in 1844, he noticed manifestly, " That would not be a small advantage if each university were thus located at the base of a montagne." The university became mixed in 1970.

In Williams, there are three divisions academic (humanities, sciences, and then social sciences), 24 research departments, 31 concentrations, and two programs for postgraduate students in the history of art and the economy. There are 286 members of faculty, with a studying report/ratio/professor of 7:1. The university sponsored of the programs with Mystic Seaport, the University of Oxford, and more recently with New York and in Africa.

The school year follows a program 4-1-4 two six-month periods with four courses, and moreover during January a program of " Winter Study".
