William Sterndale Bennett
Sir William Sterndale Bennett (* April 13rd 1816 with Sheffield - † 1875 with London) was the founder of Bach Society, which organized the first English hearing of the Passion according to Saint Matthieu of Jean-Sebastien Bach.
Pianist and Leader, it also composed 4 concertos for piano, a symphony, chamber music and some works choral societies.
