William Stanley Junior

William Stanley Jr. (1858-1916) is the American Physicien which invented the winds with induction. This reel is very important; indeed, at the 19th century, electricity (in D.C. current) was dangerous and could not be employed for the use of the consumers, such as lighting. This could be changed thanks to the Alternative course generated by means of the reels with induction.

However, no practical system of rolling up had been invented. One of the 129 patents deposited by Stanley, the patent n° 349-611, changed all this and became the prototype for all the future transformers.

In 1886 it established the first system with alternative course, providing lighting for offices and stores on the main street of large the Barrington, in the Massachusetts.
