William Safire
William L. Safire (born the December 17th 1929) is an American author, originating in New York, leader-writer in semi-retirement, old Journaliste and former writer of presidential discourses.
He is especially known for his many political chronicles in the NewYork Times and his contributions on the language to the NewYork Times Magazine . He received the Prix Pulitzer in 1978.
Biography
Its family name, of Jewish origin, is Safir (William added the " e"). Safire is a graduate of the Bronx High School off Science, an university for the elites in New York. He studies with the Université of Syracuse, but leaves it after only two years. Safire will give an opening speech later and will return to it to the board of directors of the university.Before becoming journalist, Safire writes speeches for Richard Nixon and Spiro Agnew; it forges the sentence of Agnew off “ nattering nabobs negativism ” (Fr: the nabobs jacassants of the negativism ) to indicate the hostile media. Of 1955 with 1960 it is in charge of public relations. Previously he was radio operator and tele producer, and corresponding for the American Armée.
Safire joined the NewYork Times as political chronicler in 1973. In 1978, it gains the Prix Pulitzer for commentary on budgetary irregularities allotted to Bert Lance. However later investigations by the Congress will not find any embezzlement.

Since 1995 Safire was useful like member of the Pulitzer jury. After having stopped its chronicles COp-ED, Safire became director of the Dana Foundation of which he is president since 2000.
In 2006, Safire received the Presidential Medal off Freedom of the hands of George W. Bush.
Policy
Safire describes like a preserving libertarien. This theory was refuted by the CIA and other agencies credible informations. However Safire persisted in supporting the veracity of this theory and used it to justify a war against Iraq.
He is an enthusiastic defender of Israel and for this reason accepted off the Guardian Zion Award of the Université Bar-Ilan in 2005.
