William Jackson Bean is a British Botaniste , born the May 26th 1863 with Malton, Yorks and dead the April 19th 1947 with Kew, Surrey.

He becomes gardener in the royal Botanical gardens of Kew in 1883, foreman of the Arboretum in 1892, preserving assisting in 1900, conservative of 1922 with 1929. He obtains the Médaille of honor Victoria in 1917 and the commemorative Médaille Veitch in 1922.
